This modern department provides general treatment to patients with heart and vascular diseases. Wide range of our care and high number of our treatments rate us among the largest centers in Czech Republic. We introduce the newest examination and treatment procedures at our clinic.

Treatment methods

Our treatment methods include operations on coronary arteries with the use of medicamentous stents, operations on carotid arteries (carotids), catheterization closures of openings in the septum atrioventriculare, alcohol septal ablation on hypertrophic obstruction cardiomyopathy, virtual histology of coronary arteries, heart resynchronizing treatment by means of an implanted cardiostimulator, and introduction of new techniques into the non-invasive diagnosis of heart diseases, such as a three-dimensional echocardiographic examination or heart imaging by means of nuclear magnetic resonance and a multi-detector computing tomograph.

Clinic equipment

Patients will find the most up-to-date equipment used for the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases at our clinic. Our extraordinary equipment includes for ex. an intravascular ultrasonic device enabling virtual histology, as well as modern echocardiographic instruments providing an entire range of imaging (including three-dimensional imaging of the heart).

Tomograph usage

In cooperation with the Clinic of Imaging Methods, we efficiently use the most up-to-date device for computing tomography in the Czech Republic. This device enables very precise imaging of the heart and adjoining tissues.

The cardio-angiologic part of our clinic examined almost 20000 patients in year 2009. We performed 3000 diagnostic catheterizations, 1150 percutaneous operations, 7100 echocardiographic examinations, 120 ergometries and spiroergometries, 200 implantations of cardiostimulators and 2400 ultrasonic examinations of peripheral blood vessels within the individual working groups the same year.
