ABOUT HOSPITAL
The Motol University Hospital is one of the most important health institutions in the Czech Republic. Its significance consists not only in the wide range of medical departments and its room capacity, but also in a rare homogeneous concentration of all treatment areas in one location, exactly in two large buildings. In this way, specialized medical and health care teams from various departments are gathered and, if necessary, can join together immediately, providing complete and complex care. It is precisely this complexity and comprehensiveness which has been the mission of the hospital for many years.
A wide spectrum of departments covers almost every common problem in health care, smoothly transferring into specialized and super-specialized care. For many medical institutions in the Czech Republic, Motol serves as the place to turn to when presented a case that is beyond their capabilities. In this way, we can mention many patients in other medical institutions who had given up the fight with their illness or disease until our hospital was able to give them back hope, if not their health.
In the last few years, thanks to significant specialization in some departments, especially the pediatric part, the Motol University hospital has become a destination for foreign patients. This has made it a medical institution known and appreciated world-wide, and one that fully satisfies world class demands for care of the patient.
Last but certainly not least, the Motol University hospital serves as a learning centre for the Charles University in Prague, School of Medicine II. A wide spectrum of the hospital's resources are also used by the School of Medicine I. and School of Medicine III. of Charles University.
