An international multicenter study led by a Canadian research center (University of Alberta) that developed a new diagnostic system, the so-called Molecular Microscope, through which transbronchial biopsies after Tx lung can be interpreted based on molecular phenotype. In 2020, this study was expanded to include a biopsy of the bronchial mucosa, which is significantly safer than a lung tissue biopsy. Torque Teno virus (TTV) is a human non-pathogenic DNA virus that occurs in 90-95% of the human population. TTV viremia varies depending on the intensity of IS therapy and is considered a promising biomarker allowing individualization of IS treatment.
