"Good" bacteria treat complicated intestinal infections

A year and 4 months ago, the first stool bank in the Czech Republic was established at the Faculty Hospital in Motola, which is used for its transplantation.
Fecal transplantation is an old method that has been described since the time of ancient China and is used for patients who suffer from severe diarrhea, recurrent intestinal infections that do not respond to antibiotic treatment.
The samples are deep frozen in the bank at -80°C and ready for immediate administration. After endoscopic administration, significant relief comes within a few hours and the patient stops suffering from diarrhea and often abdominal pain. During the existence of our bank, we have applied the therapeutic stool to 74 patients and always with great effect.
