Healthy hospital

The University Hospital in Motol was one of the first hospitals in the Czech Republic to join the international program in 2003 Healthy hospital - Health Promoting Hospitals. In practice, this means that hospitals implement WHO declared health promotion principles.

Five health promotion standards have been developed within the program, focusing on patient needs assessment, patient information, interdisciplinary collaboration and continuity of care, healthy environment support, and management. Effectiveness and compliance with standards are assessed on the basis of measurable criteria in the form of self-assessment. The outputs of the self-assessment are used to determine corrective measures. An integral part is also the monitoring of the impact of corrective measures (eg: increasing the availability of information and educational materials will strengthen the participation of patients in promoting their own health; the resulting effect will be found in the patient satisfaction survey).

The Healthy Hospital program includes complex health promotion issues, and projects are targeted at both patients and healthcare professionals.

Information and educational materials, in cooperation with clinics, we will focus on the creation and availability of educational materials for patients.

Projects Prevalence of smoking in health care is implemented in cooperation with the Institute of Public Health, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in the form of an exploratory survey. In January and February it takes place at the Department of Pulmonology, LDN, KAR. In the summer, the survey will take place at the Department of Internal Medicine, Orthopedics and Pediatrics. Last year, an investigation was carried out at the department of central operating theaters and at clinics I and III. surgery.

Campaign - Ex smokers are unstoppable, is a European project to promote smoking cessation. It is a smoking cessation incentive program that aims to provide support to smokers who are determined to quit, and also to help all ex-smokers in their determination not to return to cigarettes. Those interested will find the link on the intranet in permanent reports.

Programs for improving physical condition patients and employees are carried out in cooperation with the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. Patients and employees are offered programs aimed at maintaining physical fitness, preventing back pain, stabilizing weight and reducing overweight.
