In FN Motol, within the meaning of the Act on Health Services, the Internal Rules comprise the Operating Rules of FN Motol, the Operating Rules of individual medical workplaces and other internal measures of FN Motol.
If you have been ordered for admission to a clinic / department of the Motol University Hospital for a planned operation, treatment or examination and your condition requires hospitalization, here you will find information on what to take with you.

Pediatric patient
To receive your child to the inpatient department, bring with you:
- complete preoperative examination,
- your identity card
- proof of the child's health insurance (insured's card)
- health and vaccination card of the child
- examination results requested by your child's attending physician (eg ECG, CT, MR, X-rays)
- a list of medicines that the child takes regularly, a diabetic card
- personal belongings (personal underwear, pajamas, home shoes, toiletries, towel, etc.)
- school supplies
- casual wear, walking wear.
If for any reason you are unable to come with the child for the planned operation / treatment / examination, contact the clinic where you have been booked.
If you decide to be in the hospital with your child, we offer you accommodation that depends on the operation of the clinic. You can stay directly at the department or at the hostel Motol Motol. For children under 6 years of age, the accommodation of the escort is covered by health insurance, for children over 6 years the attending physician suggests the need for the presence of an escort and in indicated cases will forward the application to the review doctor. If the review doctor of the relevant insurance company does not approve the application, the escort pays for the stay himself.
Stay of an accompanying hospitalized child in a hostel, which is not covered by public health insurance
Parents of children over the age of 6, whose stay is not covered by public health insurance, can use the services of a hostel on the premises of the University Hospital in Motol during their child's stay in the hospital.
The price for one night in a hostel is 200 CZK including VAT for the first adult accompanied by a child. If the capacity of the hostel allows it, it is possible to offer accommodation to the other parent for the price of 400 CZK, including VAT for 1 night.
Adult patient
Prior to admission to the inpatient department on your first visit, administrative arrangements will be made regarding your admission. If you want more comfort and privacy during your stay in the hospital, request above-standard accommodation in a single room or suite.
Bring with you:
- identity card (passport)
- health insurance card
- recommendations for hospitalization and the results of previous examinations
Please pack your personal belongings (bathrobe, slippers, pajamas, toiletries, etc.) in one small piece of luggage. The storage space in the rooms is modest. In the case of transport by ambulance service, it is not possible to safely store more luggage of one patient in the ambulance car.
We do not recommend carrying a larger amount of money, valuables or weapons for the planned admission to the hospital. We recommend storing valuables, jewelery, larger sums of money and important documents in the institutional vault.
Part of the hospitalization is the signing of consent to admission and subsequent diagnostic and treatment procedures. In the case of an operation or invasive procedure, you will be informed of the course and risk of this procedure and we will ask you to sign an informed consent.
Don't be afraid to ask about anything that is unclear to you and what you are afraid of. The attending physicians will be happy to explain everything. During hospitalization, please inform your doctor or nurse about all your problems and what is bothering you. Try to provide healthcare professionals with all the necessary information, as this will make treatment easier and faster, and shorten hospital stays.
