Prof. Josef Koutecký received the Neuron Award for his contribution to world science
The Neuron Award for Contribution to World Science is intended for important representatives of Czech science who work at home and abroad, who have achieved significant success in their field and are a role model and inspiration for others. In the field of medicine, it was taken over this year by prof. Josef Koutecký.
Appreciating those who are the driving force behind significant scientific progress and who have inspired generations of scientists is the goal Neuron Endowment Fund to support science. The Neuron Award for Contribution to World Science is intended for important representatives of Czech science who work at home and abroad, who have achieved significant success in their field and are a role model and inspiration for others. In the field of medicine, it was taken over this year by prof. Josef Koutecký, founder of the Czech Pediatric Oncology and Dean Emeritus of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine.
"Professor Josef Koutecký is the founder of Czech pediatric oncology. It began to develop half a century ago and mainly thanks to prof. Koutecký is currently achieving remarkable success. It is difficult to list the various periods it went through, but at the beginning of the journey there was a sad ward with minimal chance of saving children's lives, and currently most pediatric cancer patients are recovering. Prof. Koutecký thus became a symbol of the development of medicine and optimism about its results. "
