Our scientists

The scientific and research activities of our laboratory center are of irreplaceable importance in the professional care of our patients.

The laboratory work of our clinic mainly includes

• diagnosis of leukemia and some types of tumors at the molecular-biological level
• evaluation of tumor cell features and subsequent inclusion of the patient in the appropriate treatment regimen, eg for neuroblastoma, Ewing's sarcoma and some types of brain tumors
• continuous monitoring of the response to tumor cell changes in the patient in acute treatment
• evaluation of prognostic features of the disease important for its further development
• long-term follow-up of patients after successful treatment of acute leukemia with the aim of early detection of relapse
• research in the field of childhood leukemias and tumors in order to improve diagnostics and treatment in pediatric hematooncology

Laboratory center

The laboratories of our clinic are dedicated to specialized diagnosis of childhood leukemias (Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Laboratory of Flow Cytometry) and diagnosis of certain cancers at the molecular genetic level (Laboratory of Solid Tumor Biology).

Our laboratory center cooperates with other European centers of pediatric hematology and oncology.

Results of our research we publish regularly in domestic and foreign professional press.
