At the Department of Primary Care we provide:
- occupational preventive care for all employees of the Motol University Hospital in time intervals according to job classification
- preventive care for employees of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, foreign students of this faculty, contracting companies
- medical and preventive care for registered patients
- urgent care even for unregistered employees
- regular vaccinations to indicated groups of employees and registered patients
- teaching to students of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in the field of practical medicine
- teaching and pre-certification training for physicians in the field of general practice medicine as an accredited workplace, the practical part of the attestation is also tested here
- via a foreigner ambulance - medical care for foreigners, necessary examinations for insurance in the Czech Republic, examinations not following the medical goal (confirmation for the labor office, food license, etc.), assistance to other departments of the National Property Fund in communication with foreigners
- through the PLDD ambulance - medical and preventive care for children and adolescents
In the department, care is provided by 4 general practitioners for adults, 1 internist (in the ward for foreigners), 1 general practitioner for children and adolescents, 9 general nurses and 3 THPs.
Specificity The Department of Primary Care of the National Hospital consists of regular preventive inspections for high-risk workplaces where there is a risk of ionizing radiation, infections, work with cytostatics, biological material, work with a laser. During preventive examinations, laboratory screening is performed, including a panel for infectious hepatitis and vaccination against hepatitis, as well as vaccination against meningococcal infection at selected workplaces.
The Department of Primary Care is also a regional training center in the field of General Practical Medicine at IPVZ.

- The primary care department is located on the ground floor of the adult part of the hospital - node D, only the PLDD ambulance is located on the ground floor of the children's part of the hospital
