Brief description of the project: The project was co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and enabled new equipment for operating theaters, the resuscitation department and the Clinic of Imaging Methods. Almost half of the European Union's contribution to the acquisition of eleven devices was from the European Regional Development Fund. The conditions for the provision of specialized and super-specialized care for adult and pediatric patients with serious injuries have thus improved in the trauma center for children and adults at the University Hospital in Motol.
As part of this program, FN Motol acquired a trauma-navigation system that informs the surgeon about the accuracy of his procedure, the exact location of the ongoing intervention in the confined space of the operated organ, two new X-ray diagnostic devices, two laser devices for eye surgery, eye operating microscope, operating desks, a set for endoscopic surgical operations and a clinical information system for acute care (resuscitation department and ICU) to keep complete, fast and clear medical and nursing documentation.
Thanks to this project, the quality of facilities has increased, thus improving the conditions for providing specialized and super-specialized care for adult and pediatric patients with serious injuries, who are often brought to the Motol University Hospital trauma center in danger of death.
