 Brief description of the project:

The goal of the project was to increase the capacity of the medical waste processing facility in the Faculty Hospital in Motol in the territory of the Capital City of Prague.

Selected parts of the technological incineration equipment were modernized in order to achieve an increase in the capacity of the incinerator so that the value of the set indicator was met in accordance with the OPŽP call.

The hazardous waste incinerator at the Faculty Hospital in Motola, which has been in unsatisfactory technical condition for a long time, would be headed for a significant reduction in its performance without a thorough modernization of the technological equipment and without the restoration of automatic operation. The project addressed the increase of the necessary capacity of the incineration plant by investing in the reconstruction of the silo for external waste, in the modernization of the liquid waste incineration plant and in a new control system focusing on the automation of the Measurement and Regulation (MaR) operation, as well as by means of new measures. This was an investment in the installation of a primary air fan, cooling exchangers, continuous monitoring of flue gases and in equipment for the reduction of nitrogen oxide (NOx).

Implementation of the project enables better waste management. Usable capacity was increased by 300 t/year.

This project was co-financed by the European Union - Cohesion Fund within the Operational Program Environment and the state budget.
